What is Authy and who is it for?

Authy is a multi-factor authentication service that provides an additional layer of security when signing in to your Google Account. It works with many popular services, including Gmail and G Suite.

Authy has a lot of features. It is available for both Android and iOS devices, it can be used on multiple platforms like Windows Phone, Blackberry etc., you can use the software to generate one time passwords (OTP) or multi-factor authentication codes which are valid for 30 seconds only. You will also get an option to set up push notifications so that whenever there is any change in your account information you will receive a notification about it immediately. The app allows users to store their accounts securely with them by using fingerprint lock feature as well as passcode protection system. There’s no need of remembering all those complex passwords anymore because this application generates random OTPs every single time when required and saves them safely within itself without letting anyone else know about these details at all.

Authy is for anyone who uses two-factor authentication. This includes people with a Google account, Facebook account, Twitter account or any other service that supports 2FA. It also works great as an SSH key manager and can be used to secure your password vault such as 1Password or LastPass.

What is Google Authenticator and who is it for?

Google Authenticator is a free mobile app that generates 2-Step Verification codes on your phone. It supports multiple accounts and works with many services, including LastPass.

The software Google Authenticator has the following features:

– Time based One Time Password (TOTP) generator. This means that you can use it to generate a new code every 30 seconds, which is more secure than time based OTP generators like e.g. SMS messages or push notifications from other apps because they are vulnerable against replay attacks and man in the middle attacks if not used with an additional secret key shared between both parties of a communication channel;

– Support for multiple accounts per device;

– Easy backup/restore functionality using your Android’s built in Backup Manager so you never lose access to your codes even after reinstalling or switching devices;

– No ads.

Google Authenticator is for anyone who uses 2-step verification. It’s available to all G Suite users, and it works with any service that supports the Time-based One-Time Password (TOTP) standard.

What are the benefits & downsides of Authy and what say users about it?

The main benefit of Authy is that it allows you to protect your accounts with two-factor authentication. This means that even if someone gets a hold of your password, they won’t be able to log in unless they also have access to the device on which you installed the app. It can also generate one-time passwords for logging into websites and apps without having an additional application or hardware token handy.

The downside is that this software isn’t free; there are both paid and trial versions available depending on what features you need from it (and how much money you want to spend). You may not like using third party applications instead of relying solely on Google Authenticator because some people find them less convenient than physical tokens, but others prefer their convenience over carrying around extra devices just for security purposes.

Authy is a very popular two-factor authentication app. It has been downloaded more than 1 million times and it currently holds an average rating of 4.5 stars in the Google Play Store, with over 2,000 reviews from users who have tried it out for themselves. The majority of reviewers are extremely satisfied with this product and they say that its ease of use makes them feel safe when using their accounts online or on mobile devices like smartphones or tablets. They also appreciate how easy it is to set up new accounts as well as add additional security features to existing ones without having to go through any complicated steps during the process; all you need do is download the software onto your device and follow instructions provided by Authy’s user interface (UI). Users also love how simple yet effective this application can be at protecting sensitive information such as passwords, credit card numbers etc., which means that there will never again be any worries about someone else accessing these details if one loses his/her phone while traveling abroad.

What are the benefits & downsides of Google Authenticator and what say users about it?

The benefits of Google Authenticator are that it is free, easy to use and available on all platforms. It also has a very good reputation for being secure. However, the downside is that you need an internet connection in order to access your codes which can be problematic if you don’t have mobile data or wifi when travelling abroad (although there are ways around this). Also, some people find using two-factor authentication inconvenient as they may not want to carry their phone with them at all times.

What are the differences between Authy and Google Authenticator and in which case should you use either of them?

Authy is a cloud-based multi-factor authentication service that works with many services and devices. Google Authenticator is an app for Android, iOS, BlackBerry OS 10+, Windows Phone 8+ and ChromeOS (and also available as a mobile website) which implements TOTP using the Time-Based One-Time Password Algorithm specified in RFC 6238. The two are not interoperable; you can’t use your existing accounts from one to log into another service or device.

If you want to use the software on your computer, go for Authy. It is available as a desktop app and also an extension for Google Chrome. The mobile apps are not yet available but will be soon released in both Android and iOS versions.

If you want to use the two-factor authentication for a single account, then Google Authenticator is your best choice. But if you are looking forward to using it on multiple accounts, Authy will be better as it supports more than 30 services including Facebook and Dropbox.
