Could be betterUsers can’t copy and paste information from Confluence into other pieces of software without the editing causing issues. Can become a bit slow sometimes, causing pages to take longer to load and look for information. It will be lovely to see some of form of article review date (or expiry date) and with that some automation to notify original publisher to review it.The SharePoint site is not easy to navigate quickly, and it can be burdensome to try and move files to different folders within the site itself. Syncing issues. Files sometimes don’t update, and won’t appear in user file explorer the same way it does online.

Automation

Confluence automation is a premium feature that can help teams manage their content at scale. When admins create and enable automation rules, Confluence automation works behind the scenes to complete routine functions that would otherwise have to be done manually. For example, rules can automatically: • Create new content in the correct format. • Send team updates on work progress. • Remind people about incomplete tasks. Automation does what it sounds like: It automates routine functions that would otherwise wait for a person to do them. In Confluence, this might mean automating workflows like: “When a new page is created in this space, message this Slack channel.” “When a person from this group creates a new page, add this label.” Depending on how your team uses Confluence (for collaborative work or as a knowledge base), automating certain functions may be more useful than others. Here are four key areas we expect automation to be especially helpful: • Integrating tools • Tracking the content lifecycle • Keeping spaces organized • Staying Informed SharePoint Workflows can streamline and automate a wide variety of business processes. These workflows can range from collecting signatures, feedback, or approvals for a plan or document, to tracking the current status of a routine procedure. Ways To Use SharePoint Automation include: • Create SharePoint alerts • Enable Content Approval • Use built-in SharePoint workflows • Build flows using Power Automate • Use SharePoint Designer • Use Visual Studio • Use Nintex Workflow Designer.

File Sharing

In Confluence, you can share your team’s PDFs, Office documents, images, and more in one place by uploading your files to Confluence. Automatic versioning, instant previews, permissions, and full-text search mean shared network drives can be a thing of the past for your team. Regardless of which editor you are using, the file added to the edited page gets attached to the current page or blog post. You can attach anything, from project plans and design mockups to video and audio files. You and your colleagues can also collaborate by Sharing and commenting on files displayed on Confluence pages. The files you store on a SharePoint site are usually available to everyone with permission to the site, but you may want to share specific files or folders with people who don’t otherwise have access to the site. When you share files and folders, you can decide whether to let people edit or just view them. You can see who a SharePoint file is shared with, stop sharing SharePoint files or folders, or change permissions, at any time. You can also share a link to the file.

Time Cracking

Confluence is Atlassian’s digital collaboration space. It is a place where teams of all sizes and nature can effectively share knowledge and information about a particular project. Project managers also get a chance to monitor what is going on with team members. In most cases, some teams work on a timed billing system. As a result, each team member is paid for the time they were actively working on the project. While Confluence integrates efficiently with other Atlassian products, time tracking is perhaps the most crucial integration each team should have. Fortunately, at Appsvio we created plugin Time Tracking for Confluence which introduces a completely new approach to this topic. In Sharepoint, user-friendly interface allows employees to conveniently track regular work hours, break time or overtime. Managers can then review the timesheets of their subordinates and easily calculate project hours in a selected period.

API Functionality

Confluence’s REST APIs provide access to resources (data entities) via URI paths. To use a REST API, your application will make an HTTP request and parse the response. By default, the response format is JSON. Your methods will be the standard HTTP methods: GET, PUT, POST and DELETE. One of the main advantages of using SharePoint REST API is that you can directly retrieve or update SharePoint entities (such as Webs, Lists, and List Items) by creating and sending HTTP requests to appropriate endpoints (URL) without adding references to any SharePoint Libraries or Client Assemblies.

Calendar

In Sharepoint, you can use a calendar to store team events, including meetings, social events, and all-day events. You can also track team milestones, such as deadlines or product release dates, that are not specific to a time interval. With a calendar on the SharePoint site, you and your colleagues will have easy access to common schedules and dates. Team Calendars in Confluence Premium lets your team stay organized and communicate availability with a schedule of personal and team events that link to individual work calendars and Confluence pages.

Reports

Reporting for Confluence Cloud is a truly transformative app that gives everyone, not just power users, the ability to create reports that help them visualize and understand their Confluence data. The classic SharePoint experience shows a ribbon above the list, not a command bar. Select the List tab on the ribbon, and then select Export to Excel. Depending on your browser, you can save and open, or open the file directly. Note: If you save the file, the default file name for the first copy is the query.
